Our Proven Process
When you’re a musician or a band and you’re thinking about making your music video, your connection to the project is much deeper than the average client we work with. Pre-Production
Our music video production process begins with an intense discovery phase where we learn about you as the artist, you as the person, and what your vision is for the upcoming shoot. We need to know who you are and who you want to be to properly develop a concept for your video and find the right style and tone to convey the message you’re trying to tell. This process includes what we call previsualization where we’ll walk you through our concept using script and storyboards to give you a good idea of whether or not our thinking has aligned with your own.
Our own research into your music will include finding the best ways to differentiate you from others in your space and incorporate our finding into your own thoughts to come up with our plan of attack. This plan includes the necessary casting to ensure we have all the required pieces for your video vision. We’ll also do detailed location scouting to be sure we get what we need from every location included in the planning. Permissions and permitting will be discussed if required.
Production
When the day of the video shoot arrives, New Orleans Video Productions will be enthusiastically waiting to begin the work. Our production crew will be at the first location with all the necessary equipment to capture the moments we’re after with minimal downtime. Direction onsite will be given by our own Creative Director and all scenes required to fulfill the planned objectives will be covered before the production moves on to the next location in the plan.
Our talented team will stage each scene and capture them using the camera equipment specified by the client. We can deliver anything you can imagine and will do it with a passion and energy you’re sure to find infectious. We want you as the artist to enjoy the process and make it yours through and through. So, we’ll listen to what you say and do our best to give you exactly that – first time, every time. Before the day is through, we’ll have shot every scene, captured every feeling, and had a good time doing it. That’s what you deserve and what we deliver.
Post-Production
Now that the footage for your music video has all been captured, we can begin to turn that footage into the video you’ve been dreaming about with our talent, our tools, and our techniques. We’ll apply all of the required assets to your footage to bring it sharply into focus on your story and tells it in the precise tone you asked for. This ranges from video editing to color corrections, visual effects to video finishing and, since this is a music video, there’s sound design and music scoring to guarantee the music is still what matters most.
All of these skills and techniques will be put to good use in crafting your music video’s final cut. And, since our initial planning phase is still the handbook for the effort, your vision and our finished product are certain to align perfectly.
